One more day and the next Mercy & Justice DTS will start. The staff is very excited and full of passion for Jesus. Seth and Lisette, both staff in this school, went on their free evening to Epe, to tell the people about Jesus. This is Lisette’s story:
“if there would be a God what would you ask him?” With this question Seth and I went on the street in Epe Friday night. We took a whiteboard with us and people could write down their answers. We hoped to start a conversation with these people about Jesus.
We got different reactions on our question. Someone wanted to ask God the question: ‘Is there life after death?’. We could go into that and we asked him if he believed in a God. Seth and me could tell that we have the security of life after death, a life with God because of Jesus.
After that we had a conversation with a few girls, and one of them asked a question: ‘How could God create the earth in one week?’. With this question we also could start a conversation, and it was a really deep and good conversation about God, Gods power, and that we need Jesus for the wrong things we did, so that we can come to the Father again to have a relationship with Him. We talked with them for about one hour. We explained the Gospel, we shared how we came to faith, what God means to us and that His Holy Spirit is living and working in us. It seemed that one girl was touched by it. At the end we could pray for her, because the wanted to get to know God if he would really exist. We prayed for an encounter with God.
It’s my desire (and the desire of everyone whose part of our team) to make ‘evangelizing’ more part of our daily life. To share more often your faith and speak more about love and hope. And not using just only going on the street and talk with people, but also just in your daily life, when you get groceries for example, or when you see someone needs help. That’s why we also wanted to go and talk with people from our own village.
It’s so great to see how God is working. I always find it a bit difficult to go on the street and have conversations, sometimes I’m doubting if I should do it or not.. But I’m getting really enthusiastic about it. God is always leading us and He is giving us the right words to speak.
